Greased Pig with 8 arms

Have you ever tried to hog-tie a greased pig mixed with an octopus hyped up on caffeine and 16 cups of coffee with the attitude of an angry bear with poison ivy on its butt rolling like an Alligator trying to kill prey? That's exactly what it's like to change Emily's diaper. Once her butt is exposed to air she immediately begins to roll like a starving Alligator. While she's rolling she is reaching with what seems like 8 arms to touch her dirty, unwiped butt. So, not only do you have to wipe her nasty butt, but also her nasty fingers before she gets them to her hair or face. She is a stinker. She doesn't walk. She doesn't talk. But, she is smarter than she lets on. To bribe her while attempting to change her diaper Laura and I purchased some M&M candy canes. We put them on her changing table, which is about 4 inches from her crib. I went into her room on Sunday to wake her up, but she was already awake. I found chocolate all over her clothes and her mouth looked like she'd been bobbing for apples in a mud pit. She can grow a better gotee than me. Anyways, I knew immediately that our little goat had eaten all of the M&Ms, however, I couldn't find the candy cane. I call her a goat because she also eats diaper wipes. I'm telling you, this kid is a definite stinker. We have to clear the area before we put her to sleep. We figured there were no more M&Ms and just to be sure we had our human candy vacuum cleaners Haley and Allie search under, over, around, and in the crib for candy. They found none. On Monday morning when we went in Emily had chocolate on her clothes and a smile on her face. We searched again, this time employing our parental instincts. Nothing! Being the intelligent, conniving kid she is, she didn't touch the chocolate again on Monday. This morning we went in to get Emily and again she had chocolate on her face along with a smile. Okay, I can walk, I can talk, and I wear underwear, but apparently my child is applying for a job with the CIA or FBI. She definitely has a hiding place that none of us can find. She loves it too. She thinks its funny. Not only that, but she loves to pick on her older sisters. Laura had some smarties candies at church on Sunday trying to bribe the kids to be reverent during Sacrament meeting and Emily pulled some more tricks out of her hat. She wet the candies with her spit just until they began to melt and then wiped them on Haley and Allie. She loved wiping them on Allie because she would scream during the middle of the meeting. She wiped candy all in Allie's hair. If we stopped Emily, she screamed. If we let her continue, Allie screamed. Checkmate! I boasted that Emily must have inherited all of her brains from me to which Laura replied, "She must have dear, I still have all of mine."

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

PopPop once told me that experience is the comb life gives you after you're bald. Wear a smile: it increases your face value. I think, therefore I am overqualified. Now, let me sleep.

Testing . . . testing . . . 1 . . . 2 . . . 3. Uhm, I would like to make an announcement. Do not believe anything I haven't said.

Allie's Attitude of Gratitude

This morning before church Nana was in her room when she heard a soft voice in the girl's room. Allie was in her room all alone. Nana overheard Allie saying a prayer on her own. Allie was thanking Heavenly Father for all of her presents and for her family, including those that are in Alabama. Nana said it was a very sweet and loving prayer. I wish that I could have been present to hear it. We have been fotunate enough to be blessed with sweet children who recognize the source of all of our blessings. The girls have good examples and for that we are grateful.

1st White Christmas

Grammy made this blanket for Emily. She loves it. She's asleep right now cuddled up in it.
We had our first ever "White Christmas". And no, we did not go sledding. This is the front of the house. The mountains are covered. Do you think Haley would sled down from the top?
We did have a snowball fight a few days ago and my footprints are still in the snow.

Old Pics from Montgomery

She has her mother's table manners.
She likes eating "snakes".
Laura, we need our good-night kisses.
This was Emily at six months.
She grabbed the camera and took this picture all by herself.
We measured Emily's smile the other day and it was 4 inches.
Emily lived in the swing. Please do not tell the government as the new administration will likely make her pay property taxes.
What did Laura put in her bottle?
Allie was exploring the wonderful world of abstract art.
If you watch long enough you'll see that Haley was trying to pull a bunny out of the cloth.

Laura's Birthday in Feb. of 2009

Laura celebrated her birthday on Feb. 18, 2009. We all had a lot of fun. Thought she might enjoy the memory.

Washing Clothes

Emily loves to open cabinets and crawl in. She loves to climb too. Chrismas eve day, while working on the computer downstairs, I heard some strange noises coming from the laundry room. I went in to check on her and this is what I found, a big smile and lots of laughter.
Emily has been fighting off a cold. Her nose has to be sucked and wiped and benadryl administered every 4 to 6 hours. It has finally cleared up today and she has not coughed yet. Grammy, I thought you might like the snotty nose.

Modesty Patrol

Jennifer, Laura's step-sister, is getting married on December 29. It just so happens that Jennifer is as much a prude as Laura is. Katie, Laura's step-sister, bought Jennifer lingerie for Christmas. Jennifer began to open the package and quickly shut it without making a scene. However, everyone at the Weber house watches while you open your gift. Kim, Laura's step-sister, snatched the box away from Jennifer and pulled out the skimpy lingerie. She displayed it for everyone. Brian, Jennifer's fiance, blushed. Haley happend to walk through the room while Kim was holding up the lingerie while everyone whistled and laughed. Haley nonchalantly commented, "Wow, you're definitely gonna have to wear a shirt under that." I suppose you have to know how much Laura and I have instilled in Haley the importance of modesty to understand the comedy of the situation. Haley has a tendency to be blunt and express her thoughts without reservation. The other day in Wal-Mart Haley and Allie were walking past the bra section with Nana and Stephanie while shopping. I suppose they'd never noticed that bras have pictures on them. Well, Haley and Allie both noticed the pictures and blurted out, "Look Nana . . . BOOBS!" They were apalled. They could not believe the immodesty. They stopped two men walking down the aisle in the middle of the store to enlighten them as to the pictures of boobs in the bra section and their immodesty. Well, at least we know we've taught them well. We hope they will continue to have those same morals as they grow up to be teenagers.
