Pigs

Sitting at the supper table eating ham we decided Haley was old enough to know where it came from. We explained to her that ham comes from a pig. She grasped the concept and then quickly said, "Oh, so that's why it's pink huh."

Emily's Crawling Part II

Here's my proof that Emily is crawling. She's also trying to pull up on things. I think she'll be walking well before her first birthday. She's such a sweet baby! How could we have guessed how much more joy she'd bring to our family. Emily's been the perfect addition. They all are.

Five Generations

It doesn't seem very common to have five living generations in a family, but my Bubo (my great grandmother) has now met her 3rd great great grandaughter.
For Memorial Day weekend we drove to Florida to visit my dad's family and I was very excited to get a picture of Bubo and Emily.
This is Emily's Great Gran.
I love this picture of Emily and Bubo. We had lots of fun visiting with everyone. I have to say a special "thank you" to Dad and Melissa who let us ride with them to Florida and to Grandma who let us stay at her house. We love you!

Emily's Crawling

It's official people...Emily's crawling. We didn't figure it would take her very long. She's so anxious to follow the girls around. I'll get some live footage and post it on the blog. Suddenly Emily doesn't seem so little anymore. Until lately I kept seeing the little baby I just brought home from the hospital, but now that she's crawling I realize we're quickly nearing her 1st birthday. Between Emily's first birthday and Haley and Allie starting school this year I might have a meltdown. Where did the time go?

"I'm Engrossed!"

Our friends brought us a pan of homemade lasagna yesterday (good friends, I know!) It was nice to not have to cook last night and the lasagna was excellent. After a few bites in to Haley's lasagna she said, "This is so good! I'm thinking about nothing but this. I'm engrossed!"

Flimp Festival

Laura had a church activity for ladies only so I took the girls to the Flimp Festival at the Museum of Fine Arts. We had a lot of fun celebrating Italian culture.
*Don't forget that by right cliking over a picture you can save it to your files.
Above: This was Haley after 5 hours at the Flimp Festival.

Above: Allie was trying to cool off.

Above: Allie almost fell in.
Above: A waterfight ensued and Haley and Allie did everything but throw each other into the water.
Above: Haley was quite proud of the hat she made.
Above: Allie's art exhibit will be on display in July of '09. It's called "PINK".
Above: Haley will someday marry a politician because she could fake smile at a rattlesnake.
Above: What is the airspeed velocity of a laiden swallow?
Above: Allie is not mad, she's thinking about the laiden swallow question.
Still thinking . . .
and . . . she gave up.
Above: Allie is determined to write her name. She does a pretty good job. She dots all her lls.
Above: Allie just let out a big fart, hence the smile.
Above: I can't wait to see what Haley's like in 10 years.

Bass Pro Shop

Haley, Allie, and Emily prefer "Bass Pro Shop" to the mall every day of the week. They beg constantly to go to - as they call it - "The Fish Store" all the time.
They especially love the boats and 4-wheelers. They also enjoy Alabama football.
What more could a potential husband ask for?
Haley is demonstrating proper entrance into the boat.
Haley just passed the online open book test for her boating license. Any volunteers to be pulled on the intertube behind the boat? I was coveting. Allie is content to ride rather than drive.
Seeing the boats brings out the best in everyone.
Allie cranked up the 4-wheeler and then didn't know what to do.
Haley immediately chose the biggest, baddest, and most expensive 4-wheeler in the entire store. When I'm old Haley, please remember that this would make a wonderful "powerchair".
All aboard!
Allie drives like Laura . . .
