This picture was taken when Haley and Allie had the flu a couple of weeks ago. Rold Gold Pretzels was the only thing they would eat. So here we are, just the girls, having movie time and taking it easy (and yes, Emily also liked the pretzels).
In the way of updates...Haley is a newspaper thief. While she was riding her bike around the park today she noticed the paper in someone's driveway and assumed that someone had been littering, so she brought the paper home to throw it away. I would have returned it, but I didn't have a clue whose house it came from.
Haley read two stories today all by herself. She was very excited. She does well in school and enjoys it once she gets inside the building and lets go of my pants. She's the last child in the world I thought would suffer from seperation anxiety, but it's the same routine every morning..."Mommy, I don't want to go. I miss you when you're gone." This last week Haley made friends with a little boy who homeschools, so now she has it in her head that she can go to school at home with Mommy. I'd be more concerned about her reticence if she wasn't so happy when we pick her up at lunch time.
Allie started preschool two weeks ago. I am working with a group of moms in the neighborhood who also have preschool age children. We take turns teaching, go on field trips once a month and incorporate values into the curriculum. Allie's having a blast and I can tell she listens intently to what she's taught. She's quick to correct us and keep us in line. So far she's made a crown to represent her infinite worth, made a book about herself, painted with potatoes, brought home various art projects reflecting the letter and number of the week and made lots of new friends. She remains her same sweet, loving, tender, happy self. The other moms have really enjoyed having Allie in their home.
Emily is still our funny, happy little baby. She's not walking yet but I think she prefers being carried around anyway. Her new motto is "What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine." She's not selfish, she just wants what everyone else has, especially if it's something to eat. The other day at McDonald's I gave Emily a bite of Haley's ice cream. When Haley came back to the table and resumed eating her sundae Emily was very upset and began waving her fists and whining at Haley. This is typical behavior. She's learned to wave "hello" and "bye-bye". She likes looking at the pictures in Haley and Allie's books. She seems very opinionated for her age. I guess she gets it from her sisters.
Can you belive it? This was Haley over two years ago when we lived in Huntsville.

Dad told Haley a dumb blonde joke. "Did you hear about the blonde that jumped off the building? She was wearing 'Always with wings'!"
A princess would never run through the water. However, having her underling carry her through the water is acceptable.

Her reply, "Ah yes, the pluperfect tense is a perfective tense that exists in most Indo-European languages, used to refer to an event that has completed before another past action.
